The experience begins with a breathtaking projection installation of beautifully animated maps, creating the sensation of flying above historic cartography.

Throughout the museum, interactive installations invite visitors to explore a wide range of map projections and discover how Gerard Mercator, over 500 years ago, translated the round Earth onto a flat surface.

Visitors can uncover augmented reality stories guided by the museum’s MAP butterfly, create a projection of their own head, and explore extraordinary objects such as original Mercator globes and the world’s largest atlas.

Interactive quizzes and a personal life-map experience encourage reflection and engagement at every step.

The experience ends with a breathtaking 4D projection installation that lifts visitors into the sky, allowing them to soar through clouds and storms in a hot-air balloon while gazing down at the Earth below. Powered by Unreal Engine, high-end 3D visuals and detailed animations bring this sensation of flight vividly to life. A journey that blends wonder with knowledge.
